HyperXpress Pricing and Configurations

Configurations

HyperXpress is available in three licensing configurations:

Standalone: one copy dedicated to one workstation.

Floating: multiple copies shared amongst users on your network.

Server: one copy installed on a server and accessed from any workstation on your network. This allows for sequential processing, which means that RIP processes are off-loaded from your workstation to the server.

Standalone Version
Where does this configuration work best • When only needed on a single workstation
• When sharing ratio is less than 2:1 and Server version does not apply for some reason
Ripping Occurs On local host only
Cost /Value • Highest per-seat and per-user costs
• Lowest entry point cost
Software Lives On local hard drive
Additional Optional Components None
Other Notes

Floating Version
Where does this configuration work best Anytime the sharing ratio is greater than 2:1 and the Server version does not apply for some reason.
Ripping Occurs On local host only
Cost /Value Lower per-user cost than Standalone version
Software Lives On shared disk space, typically a file server
Additional Optional Components None
Other Notes The floating seat floats around the network for sharing among users.

Server Version
Where does this configuration work best • local ripping is not desired
• sharing ratio is high
• per-user or per-seat cost is an issue
• users don’t mind waiting in a queue for jobs to process
Ripping Occurs On server
Cost /Value • Typically lowest per-user and per-seat costs
• Best value for sharing expensive RIP components
Software Lives On shared disk space, typically a RIP server which is generally a separate piece of hardware than the network file server.
Additional Optional Components Additional Clients & Viewers
Other Notes GUI components float around the network for sharing among users.
