As our Electrical Engineer you will design, implementation, and testing of reliable electronics for diving equipment.

Key Responsibilities

KRA 1: Design of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies:

  • Source, research, and recommend new electronic component to meet design
  • Assist with the specification of product requirements, especially as related to electronic
  • Schematic capture in Altium
  • PCB layout in Altium
  • Creation and maintenance of schematic symbols and PCB
  • Generation of organized documentation for transfer to PCBA manufacturing
  • Work with mechanical engineers to ensure electronics mounting, encapsulation, and protection are designed for optimal
  • Documentation of electronics

KRA 2: Verification of functionality, performance, and reliability of electronics:

  • Create and execute validation plans to ensure new components are
  • Perform and document bring-up testing on new PCBA
  • Provide necessary documentation and support to firmware
  • Work with NPI test engineers to develop and execute test

KRA 3: Support the ongoing production sustaining activities:

  • Collaborate with purchasing department to ensure continuous supply of
  • Find and approve alternate components due to EOL or supply
  • Support and troubleshooting of problems relating to electronics for customers, service centers, OEMs and
  • Continuously improve electronics reliability through research of best practices and evidence-based investigations into failure
  • Electronics design of production tools, programmers, and test
  • Design, testing, and integration of electronics for testing

Key Qualifications and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience as an Electrical Engineer in an R&D or Quality environment developing commercial products
  • Experienced with DFMEA and PFMEA techniques or Product Development environment
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment an asset
  • Design of parts for underwater environments an asset

The successful candidate is a calm under pressure problem solver and a great communicator who builds effective team relationships with honesty, respect and passion for getting the job done. Other beneficial experience:

  • Scuba diver, interest in company sponsored scuba training or you think scuba diving is pretty cool
  • Proven communication skills both in-person and hybrid ways or
  • Excellent internal communication and interpersonal Ability to lead and positively influence people in interactions at all levels within an organization.
  • Capacity to work under pressure on multiple concurrent priorities and
  • Ability to build and facilitate strong cross-functional work
  • Uncompromising dedication to safety and quality
  • Excellent command of the English Language, written and
  • Proficient in MS Office tools including Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and
