About the Opportunity:

As a Firmware Quality Assurance Specialist, you will ensure highly-reliable code is released for advanced technical dive computers and rebreather control systems. Test procedures will be developed to verify that requirements are met, and then executed using a mixture of manual and automated testing. Best practices will be employed and continually refined regarding code coverage, analysis, automation, and record keeping. Creativity and problem solving skills will be employed to develop advanced methods for automated testing of hardware devices. This position reports directly to the Firmware Manager.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience testing high-reliability embedded systems.
  • The use of scripting languages (e.g. Python) for automating tests.
  • Knowledge of engineering practices for requirements test coverage, traceability, and results documentation.
  • The ability to write clear, concise, and precise test procedures.
  • In-depth working knowledge of regression testing, release processes, and engineering change management.
  • The use of bug or issue tracking tools for managing changes (e.g. Jira).
  • Understanding of electronics hardware for troubleshooting problems or developing automation and simulation platforms.

Required Education:

  • Electrical/Computer Science/Software background degree or equivalent technical diploma

Beneficial Experience:

  • Scuba diving, interest in company sponsored scuba training or you think scuba diving is pretty cool
  • Understanding of Arm Cortex M devices and C code.
  • Able to read schematics and PCB layouts and perform basic hardware debugging.
  • Bluetooth communications knowledge.
  • Prior experience in a consumer electronic products environment.
