Petrel and Perdix Firmware V38 Release Notes
A note on models: The Petrel, Petrel 2, and Perdix share a common firmware base. Due to hardware differences not all features are available on all models. The following changes apply to all models unless otherwise noted.
Version 38 (2016-09-26):
FIX: Fixed a problem where under certain conditions a value between 0 to 5 minutes could be added to the surface interval time after a turn off then turn on cycle.
FIX: Changed the compass heading mark colour back to green (instead of white).

The Shearwater Perdix is probably the best dive computer I have ever had !!
Only one (minor) criticism, the dive time is not displayed on the main screen. You have to go in the “logbook” menu.
Thanks for made such a nice dive computer.
Probably in firmware V39 !!
Olivier Giraud.
I currently own a perdix and was wondering if you will be providing us with a firmware update to allow us to use a transmitter with our older perdix
1. What is the Update Interval for the Perdix ie: How often are the depth and other calculations updated on the screen (1 second, 5 seconds, 15 seconds, etc)?
2. How often is the Tank Pressure updated on the display of the Perdix AI?
3. Are the Update Intervals (above) user selectable for either more accuracy (updated more frequently) or longer battery life (updated less frequently)?
Thank you
Hi Greg,
1. The update interval for depth is 3 times every second.
2. Tank pressure is updated every 5 seconds.
3. The update intervals are not user configurable and will not be affected by battery life.
Cheers,
Shearwater Research
petrel 1 is it blue tooth or wifi if any
On the Pretel 2 is there any way to see tank pressure on open circuit.
Hi, Mike. Unfortunately no. Petrels lack the hardware required to connect to a tank pressure transmitter. Only the Perdix AI and NERD 2 can wirelessly connect to tank pressure transmitters.
