Shearwater Firmware V93 For Petrel 2, Perdix, Perdix AI, and Perdix 2 Is Now Available
Shearwater Firmware v93 is now available. This update is applicable to the Petrel 2, Perdix, Perdix AI, and Perdix 2.
Adds features released in Version 91 (which was only released for Petrel 3 and Perdix 2) to legacy products, where hardware allows. See Version 91 release notes for details.
This release also includes new features, improvements, and fixes. This v93 update is recommended for all users using Shearwater Petrel 2, Perdix, Perdix AI, and Perdix 2 computers.
Version 93 includes the following changes:
- Perdix/Perdix AI/Petrel 2 - adds optional “MINI” display in the NDL area
- Perdix/Perdix AI/Petrel 2 - After decompressions clears, the NDL display does not revert to NDL until NDL falls below 99 minutes
- Perdix/Perdix AI/Petrel 2 - The stack timer can now be added to mini display configurations
- Petrel 2 only – Adds the PPO2 Calibration History feature

When will the NERD 2 get this update?

Hi João, I’m sorry for this issue with updating. I’ve shared your recent email with our Software Manager to review and investigate further. I’ve shared the messages coming in about this delay in being able to update the Petrel 2 with his team. Hopefully, we’ll have an answer to this delay soon.

After Updating my Petrel 2 to V93, i can’t switch mode to CC/BO. The only 2 options are PPO2 and Gauge. Can’t define gases for BO/CC. So basically my Petrel 2 is now a PO2-Sensor without anything else. Already tried to reflash firmware again. Anything I can do to get normal functionality?

Hi Hens, I apologize for this issue. The issue with updating the Petrel 2 to v93 has been resolved. Please let us know if you are still unable to complete this update.
My Perdix AI is stuck on v84 … multiple tries, including removing battery, etc. Downloads dives just fine, but a few seconds after launching the firmware upgrade, Shearwater Cloud (Windows desktop) says Bluetooth connection status changed and upgrade fails.
Hi Kevin, I’m sorry to hear that your Perdix AI won’t update firmware properly. Have you had a chance to try the update on a mobile app? What version of the Shearwater Cloud app are you using on your desktop? You may need to update the app. We are currently running V2.9.5. (https://www.shearwater.com/cloud/)
Installed V93 / BT10 (features 20084) on Perdix AI.
Diving for a week – all went well.
Trying to download logs from past week to PC and desktop can’t find the Perdix AI.
Error 175
Bluetooth connected perfectly before the update.

I am not able to Update my Petrel 2 from V84.

Same as others here, my Petrel 2 is stuck on V84 and gets a CRC error reported when trying to update. The firmware file appears to be transferred fine ( using the Android Shearwater Cloud app that successfully updated a Peregrine earlier in the day ). Any guidance? It failed twice.

Hello, I updated 3 “PETREL2” to V93, after restart, one asked me to change language (prompt message), so I switched to Italian, the other 2 computers didn’t ask and the English language is the default. Any suggestion? Thanks

Hello, I updated firmware on my Perdix AI, my transmitter no longer communicates with it. Changed battery, left new battery out for roughly 10 minutes before installing, no change. I have the older style transmitter, not the swift. Thanks
Hello John, I’m sorry to hear that your Perdix AI is no longer pairing with your legacy transmitter. If you haven’t already, I recommend the following troubleshoots. Remove the transmitter battery and leave out for a minimum of 10-15 minutes to give the device a hard reset. Put in the same battery. Delete and re-enter the transmitter serial number from your Perdix AI. If you have the opportunity, try to pair your Perdix AI with another compatible transmitter from a buddy or your local dive centre. This will determine if it is the transmitter or computer at fault.
